Constitution

Article I. NAME

This organization shall be known as the "Hampton Golf Association, Inc."

Article II. OBJECT

The object of this association shall be:

1: To encourage and stimulate an interest in golf and other sports;

2: To promote such activities among the membership and with other associated groups as will tend to develop and maintain a high standard of golf, clean sport, and good fellowship;

3: To qualify and maintain a membership affiliation with the Virginia State Golf Association;

4: To do and perform any and all things necessary or pertaining to the foregoing objects.

Article III. MEMBERSHIP

                Membership in this organization shall be-as designated in Article IV of the By-Laws.

Article IV: OFFICERS

The officers of this Association shall be a President, a Vice-president, a Secretary and a Treasurer who shall be elected by the membership in accordance with the By-Laws of the  Association. The duties of said officers shall be defined in the By-Laws.

Article V: BOARD OF GOVERNORS

The management of the Association, and all its affairs and property, shall be entrusted to the Board of Governors, which shall be composed as follows: the President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer of the Association, and Seven (7) other members who shall be elected by the membership, as provided in the By-Laws. The immediate past President shall serve on the Board for one (1) year.

Article VI: ELECTIONS AND MEETINGS

             All elections shall be held by the Association at its Annual Meeting. Rules for elections and meetings shall be as hereinafter set forth in the By-Laws.

Article VII: AMENDMENTS

The Constitution may be amended by a vote of two-thirds of the members present at the meeting, or at any Special Meeting called for the purpose of considering an Amendment, provided that the entire membership shall have been notified by mail that a Constitutionals Amendment is to be considered at such meeting at least one (l) week prior the date of such meeting, and a notice of said meeting shall have been posted on the Club's bulletin board for at least one (1) week.

Article VIII: BY-LAWS

The Board of Governors of this Association shall draw up and adopt By-Laws for carrying out the objects of this Association. The By-Laws may be amended by the Board of Governors by a majority vote, or by a two-thirds vote of the membership present at any Annual or Special Meeting.
